About the role

New Haven Public Schools seeks a Library Media Specialist to join its team.

Responsibilities

• Supports the vision of the New Haven Public Schools by engaging in purposeful, supportive, and meaningful learning experiences for students.
• Works collaboratively with other educators to ensure the whole child's academic learning, social-emotional growth, and health.
• Engages in professional development to maintain certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes.
• Provides resources and support for students' learning and growth within the library media center.
• Collaborates with teachers to integrate technology and digital resources into the curriculum.
• Maintains a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain the certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes.
• Experience working in a school library setting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in library media services.
• Experience with integrating technology into the curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in using various library management software and systems.
• Ability to teach and facilitate workshops on library resources and services.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Salary contingent on degree and years of experience.

25-26 School Year: $51,421 - $104,297
26-27 School Year: $53,220 - $108,047
