LIBRARY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

About the role
The Library Maintenance Supervisor supervises a group of Maintenance Janitors and skilled craftsman positions, providing maintenance, repair, and janitorial services to the Fresno County Library and its branches. The incumbent prioritizes maintenance and repair work, prepares cost estimates and job orders, and carries out the job order or oversees its performance by maintenance staff or private contractors. This role is responsible for all Central Library janitorial services, as well as routine maintenance and heavy cleaning of all County Library Branches.
Applicants must be willing to work irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and travel between various Library branches throughout the County. The incumbent responds to routine and emergency maintenance calls and fire/intrusion alarm responses during normal business hours, after-hours, and weekends.

- Oversee or perform maintenance tasks assigned to staff or private contractors.
- Manage janitorial services for the Central Library.
- Conduct routine maintenance and heavy cleaning of all County Library Branches.
- Respond to routine and emergency maintenance calls, including fire and intrusion alarms, during and after business hours.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of full-time, paid work experience in general building maintenance and repair or one of the related building trades.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and travel between library branches.

Selection Process
Applicants may be required to complete an examination process. Successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur. The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months.
