Library Aide
About the role
The Library Aide position at Stevenson Elementary and Brantwood Elementary is a 7.75 hours per day, 9-month contract starting on Friday, September 4th.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with library resources and literacy activities.
- Ensure adherence to No Child Left Behind standards.
- Interact in a pleasant manner at all times.
- Organize and manage library materials and systems.
- Use state-of-the-art equipment and software, including data processing.
- Collaborate with other staff members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency, with preferred two years of post-secondary training.
- Must meet No Child Left Behind standards.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills: oral and written.
- Ability to work with building literacy activities.
- Ability to team with others.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics.
- Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in readiness for reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Competency with library automation system.
- Competency with state-of-the-art equipment/skills, including data processing, etc.
- PREFERRED: Knowledge and usage of Word and Excel.
