About the role
The immediate vacancy is at the Kaimuki Public Library. Salary: $6,221 to $7,568 per month (SR-24, Step D to I). Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Responsibilities
- Plans and supervises the operation of a large public library
- Supervises and participates in the selection, development and maintenance of a collection of materials in one or more broad and complex subject area(s)
- Develops, plans, coordinates and evaluates a major area of library services (i.e., children/young adult services) on a statewide basis
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Legal authorization to work: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States
- Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university
- Professional Librarian Experience: Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or more major functional areas of librarianship, which required the application of principles, practices, knowledge, theories and tools of library science. At least one year of experience must have been comparable to the Librarian IV in the state service
