About the role
Rappahannock Community College (RCC) seeks a collaborative, flexible, organized, and user-focused Librarian to support the full services provided by the RCC Learning Resource Centers and the Richmond County Public Library (RCPL).
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty across all campuses and sites to support student success and other initiatives related to RCC.
- Provide reference and customer service support to college and community library patrons.
- Afford assistance in configuring and maintaining electronic resources.
- Provide research assistance and library instruction.
- Afford assistance in training, scheduling, and providing guidance to tutors.
- Serve on college and other committees as requested.
- Be comfortable with change and a rapidly changing technological environment.
- Maintain a schedule at both campuses, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Finalists will be asked to complete a presentation.
Requirements
- Experience providing live instruction in the use of library resources and information literacy.
- Experience designing online library instructional materials.
- Experience providing library reference services.
- Experience using LibGuides to host online library content.
- Experience providing outreach to support library services and resources.
- Experience collaborating with work colleagues to solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service.
- Knowledge of academic library operations.
- Knowledge of student learning assessment.
- Knowledge of library management systems.
- ALA-accredited graduate degree in Library Science.
- Some library experience.
