LF Extruder Operator

About the role

Join Barrett Petfood as a Full-Time Skilled Operator in Little Falls, Minnesota. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on innovation, safety, and customer‑centric solutions, operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment to produce quality pet food products.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth production processes.
• Monitor machinery, conduct inspections, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining a customer‑centric focus.
• Day‑to‑day operation of the plant; work with the Meat Room and Mill to ensure product meets specifications.
• Setup, operation, and cleaning of the extruder used for pet food production.
• Inspect product to verify it meets customer specifications for density and size.
• Operate the dryer and test kibble.
• Operate the Vertical Cooler, mix and add paletants to kibble.
• Troubleshoot equipment to keep product within specifications.
• Clean under and around plant machinery.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication for close collaboration with team members.
• Attention to detail when monitoring equipment and quality standards.
• Proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
• Good time management and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Commitment to safety and a customer‑centric mindset.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay

Competitive hourly rate ranging from $22.50 to $26.00, plus a $1.50 per hour shift differential.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
