Job Responsibilities
- Track due dates of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Evaluation Reports (ERs), keep special education staff updated of timelines, and maintain a master calendar.
- Maintain current year special education caseload, track and compile data to comply with state mandated special education requirements.
- Process and disseminate forms and paperwork needed for re-evaluations and IEP meetings.
- Schedule special education meetings using Microsoft Outlook.
- Communicate by phone, in person or by written notice with school and District personnel, students, parents and the general public.
- Operate printer, fax machine and copier, including maintaining and troubleshooting printer.
- Apply current office technology to accomplish job tasks which include typing, word processing, database management, preparing and distributing records, reports, correspondence and mailings.
Job Requirements
- Evidence of excellent word processing skills, minimum of 50 wpm.
- Experience with Windows/Microsoft Office Word or similar software, EasyIEP, Microsoft Outlook, Skyward Student and Financial, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
- Evidence of the ability to stay on task in an office atmosphere of constant interruption/shared space.
- Evidence of the ability to maintain a good rapport with co-workers and cooperate in providing services.
- Evidence of flexibility is a high priority.
- Ability to maintain a positive, helpful attitude.
- Evidence of pleasant telephone manner and excellent human relations skills.
- Evidence of excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Evidence of attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Evidence of the ability to maintain confidentiality of school-related information.
- Evidence of ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Evidence of ability to perform duties under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and adjust to changing priorities.
- Ability of being able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Pay
Minimum hourly rate: $25.41 (new rate for 2026-2027)
