Level I Armed Security Officer - Security (Nights) (PRN)

About the role

Work consists of general security tasks with a high degree of difficulty. The employee will maintain the safety and security of staff, patients, and the general public, and manage situations involving patients with volatile behavioral health characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of staff, patients, and the general public
• Manage situations involving patients with volatile behavioral health characteristics
• Complete incident, accident, and investigative reports using computer and writing skills
• Communicate with the public and patients in a tactful, intelligent, and authoritative manner
• Exercise physical and emotional restraint under stressful conditions
• Resolve problems and use independent judgment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of related experience
• Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to legally drive in the State of Georgia
• Insurable by TMC vehicle insurance carrier
• Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language
• Annual background checks
• Receive acceptable performance rating on department competencies annually

Qualifications

• Former Public Safety experience (including Law Enforcement, Corrections, Fire Service, or EMS)
• Healthcare Security, Military, or Private Business Security experience
• Completion of required training within the first 90 days of employment:
  • IAHSS Basic
  • Basic Life Support (BLS CPR)
  • Safe Crisis Intervention for Patients and Professionals (SCIPP)
  • Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) body camera use
• Must obtain a state-issued Weapons Carry License from the employee's state of residence within 90 days of employment
