About the Role
Work consists of general security tasks with a high degree of difficulty. The employee will maintain the safety and security of staff, patients, and the general public, and manage situations involving patients with volatile behavioral health characteristics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of related experience
- Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by TMC vehicle insurance carrier
- Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification
- Former experience in Public Safety (Law Enforcement, Corrections, Fire Service, or EMS), Healthcare Security, Military, or Private Business Security
- Ability to communicate tactfully, intelligently, and authoritatively with the public and patients
- Ability to function independently without constant supervision and exercise physical and emotional restraint under stressful conditions
- Computer and writing skills necessary to complete incident, accident, and investigative reports
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
- Ability to resolve problems and use independent judgment
- Must obtain a state-issued Weapons Carry License from the employee's state of residence within 90 days of employment
- Annual background checks required
Training & Certifications
Completion of required training within the first 90 days of employment:
- IAHSS Basic
- Basic Life Support (BLS CPR)
- Safe Crisis Intervention for Patients and Professionals (SCIPP)
- Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) and body camera use
Must receive acceptable performance rating on department competencies on an annual basis.
