About the role
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are seeking a visionary and accomplished scientific and clinical program head to lead the Leukemia Program. The Program Head will oversee and strategically guide the research and clinical programs in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and other myeloid malignancies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and strategically guide the Program, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission and goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for AML and myeloid malignancies throughout the entire disease spectrum, integrating basic, translational and clinical research with clinical care.
- Lead and/or support groundbreaking research initiatives, including preclinical studies, clinical trials, and translational research and foster collaborations with bench researchers, translational researchers and clinical investigators at UW and Fred Hutch.
- Serve as an academic, clinical and educational leader charged with organizing, directing and expanding the research efforts for an established team of clinical researchers involved in conducting trials.
- Assist with faculty recruitment as well as oversight and mentorship of faculty, promote professional development for team members and represent the Program at national and international conferences, workshops, and symposia.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, regulatory agencies, and funding organizations.
Requirements
- MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Board certification in hematology and/or medical oncology (or foreign equivalent)
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington
Qualifications
- Record of and primary interest in AML and/or myeloid malignancies research, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, grants and/or clinical trial experience.

Pay
- The annual base salary range for this position is from $411,251 to $462,657 for faculty hired at the Full Professor rank.
Schedule
- Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch.
Skills

- Strong publishing record and NIH grant funding
- Ability to foster collaborations with bench researchers, translational researchers and clinical investigators
