About the role
The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) seeks an energetic and qualified individual to conduct group exercise classes according to the YMCA of the USA and the Director of Group Exercise guidelines. Responsibilities
- Congruently conduct group exercise classes adhering to YMCA of the USA and Director of Group Exercise guidelines
- Provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner
- Be a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude
- All scheduled classes will be held, and sub coverage secured
- Classes will start and end on time
- Greet participants and learn their names
- Take class attendance
- Familiarize yourself with Upace Group Ex technology, including sub tracking system, class contact feature, and class cancellation
- Check and respond in a timely fashion to your YMCA email
- Identify participants' limitations and adapt classes or provide modifications accordingly
- Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
- Promote a healthy lifestyle
- Attend advanced training workshops offered by the YMCA of Greater Brandywine or another co-op member YMCA
- Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year
- Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required
- Possess and maintain at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
- Possess and maintain a current certificate of completion in Les Mills BODYCOMBAT
- Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
