About the role
The Lending Operations Analyst I is a key member of the Operations Team that supports processing for the bank’s entire portfolio loan. This role performs a wide variety of operational duties in a high-impact, deadline-driven environment and acts as a liaison between lending functions and operations. The Analyst provides project management leadership for loan development projects and participates in communications and compliance-related efforts.
Responsibilities
- Act as a resource and liaison for problem-solving regarding all loan operational, procedural, training, and logistical issues.
- Ensure all departmental documents and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including completion of required compliance training.
- Act as a project manager to ensure timely and effective implementation of changes in the unit.
- Collaborate with loan operations managers and supervisors on workload delegation to ensure timely and efficient workflow processing; examine work in progress for accuracy and timeliness, communicate issues to management, and recommend process improvements.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Handle inquiries from employees and stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Serve as the designated subject matter expert (SME) for the unit, collaborating with management and supervisors; demonstrate mastery-level knowledge of most job processes within the operational unit.
- Maintain detailed records of all work responsibilities as required.
- Respond to Help Desk incidents and requests.
- Maintain operating systems to ensure functional and efficient performance for business units.
- Support end-user access to lending software.
- Participate in the maintenance and development of lending information systems programs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Strong problem-solving skills to interpret complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures manuals, business correspondence, journals, government regulations, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to individuals, small groups, customers, employees, clients, management, executive leadership, board of directors, and the public.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with management and team members.
- Ability to function in a multi-task team environment with strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
- Specific loan operations knowledge required.
- Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and operational policies.
- Excellent understanding of front-to-back process workflows and the impact of functional activities on downstream processes.
- Proficiency with the Silverlake system and electronic communications.
- Ability to quickly master new IT processes and tools.
- Ability to relay technical information in business terms.
- Ability to assess technically complex problems requiring data collection, interpretation, and analysis from diverse sources.
Qualifications
- Some college or university experience or an Associate’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years of related experience required; banking operations and/or customer service experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs.
