About the role

The Polizeipräsidium Trier is seeking to appoint the head of the Polizeiinspektion Trier (m/f/d) on an immediate basis. The position is full-time and will commence on September 1, 2026. The role involves leading a police inspection, supervising subordinate leadership and staff, assessing security conditions within the inspection area, planning, preparing, and leading operations and high-profile incidents, including those within the jurisdiction of the Polizeiinspektion Trier. Additionally, the incumbent will take over the duties of the director of the Polizeidirektion Trier in case of absence.

Responsibilities

• Fulfillment of leadership responsibilities for the Polizeiinspektion Trier
• Duty and functional supervision of subordinate leadership and staff
• Evaluation of security conditions within the inspection area
• Planning, preparation, and execution of operations and high-profile incidents
• Management of administrative tasks of the director of the Polizeidirektion Trier during their absence

Requirements

• Rheinland-Palatinate police officers (m/f/d) from the 4th entry level with a Master's degree from the German Police Academy or equivalent training above Besoldungsgruppe A 14 LBesG
• A minimum of four years' experience in various functions of the 4th entry level of the police service
• Outstanding social and professional competence
• Quick comprehension ability, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to conceive and implement plans, self-reliance and decisiveness, responsibility and awareness, organizational and flexibility, cooperation and team spirit, negotiation skills, persuasive and implementation abilities, high resilience, conflict and communication skills, ability to lead employees in a developmental manner, and willingness to implement goals of family-friendly personnel management and gender mainstreaming

Pay

The position is assigned to the Besoldungsgruppe A 15 Landesbesoldungsgesetz (LBesG).
