About the role

The Health Care Technician II (S) is responsible for staffing Main Street and the Lighthouse during operational hours and any other approved scheduled on and off unit activities. Provide basic nursing and personal care needs, provide close monitoring, and ensure resident safety by properly securing unit doors when entering and exiting the unit. Recognize changes in resident behavior and be familiar with the plan of care of each assigned resident. Document observed resident behavior and care rendered written completely and accurately. Functions under the direct supervision of a RN/LPN.

Requirements

This position is considered mandatory, which means employees are required to report to work during adverse weather and emergency conditions. In adverse weather and emergency conditions, resident care is the primary work assignment.

Qualifications

• High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
• Listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and skills in basic and resident care procedures.
• Basic knowledge and computer programming skills such as email, word, publisher, PowerPoint, iPad, etc.

Pay

The recruitment range for this position is $32,444 - $48,665.
