Legislative Drafter, ST HELENA GOVERNMENT

About the role

A legal opportunity in St Helena, a British Overseas Territory, offering a 2-year fixed-term contract starting immediately. Salary range is £52k pa, with an International Supplement. The role involves drafting laws for St Helena and other islands, advising on legislative changes, and improving law accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure laws for St Helena and other islands are properly and effectively drafted
• Work with ministers and public service members to pass legislation from presentation to commencement
• Provide advice on changes to existing laws, particularly in modernizing laws
• Research, audit, and implement changes to streamline lawmaking and modernize the official legislation website

Requirements

A UK or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with at least two years’ post-qualification experience. Must comply with Nolan Principles and maintain a practising certificate by undertaking CPD obligations.

Benefits
