Legal Writing Attorney – Remote Position

Primary Responsibilities
- Drafting legal briefs, motions, responses, and memoranda under the Defense Base Act and Longshore Act framework.
- Prior experience in this field of law is not a requirement;
- Conducting legal research;
- Reviewing medical records, deposition testimony, discovery responses, employment records, and other case evidence;
- Aiding in the development of legal arguments for formal hearings, motions, and settlement-related filings;
- Supporting attorneys with written analysis of litigation strategy, evidentiary issues, and defenses;
- Ensuring written work product is clear, persuasive, accurate, and consistent with firm standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience;
- Excellent legal research and persuasive writing skills;
- Experience drafting litigation documents, including motions, briefs, and legal memoranda;
- Ability to analyze medical, employment, and factual records in detail;
- Strong attention to deadlines, citations, grammar, and legal accuracy;
- Ability to work independently and revise drafts based on attorney feedback;
- Licensed attorneys from any state are encouraged to apply.
About the Role
This is a writing-focused position focused on complex legal issues involving overseas employment, federal workers’ compensation law, medical causation, jurisdiction, coverage, and disability benefits. The role is full-time and fully remote.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
