About the role
Our New York office is seeking a Legal Talent Acquisition (LTA) Assistant to provide administrative support for the office's recruiting efforts. This individual will join a dynamic local team that partners closely with the broader Firmwide Legal Talent Acquisition team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the candidate database in viDesktop, including updating application statuses, recording candidate documents, tracking interview details, and entering academic information in collaboration with the Firmwide Legal Talent Acquisition team.
- Assist with candidate outreach and engagement efforts, including Kirkland-exclusive programming, campus events, lateral and clerk recruiting initiatives, and other Legal Talent Acquisition programming.
- Compile and organize candidate pipeline materials for internal review, including law student, entry-level, lateral, and clerk candidates.
- Support candidate hiring processes, including interview logistics, scheduling, greeting candidates, in-office receptions, drafting offer letters, supporting offer follow-up, and facilitating candidate communications for Campus and Lateral Legal Talent Acquisition teams.
- Interface with lateral candidates, search firms, and hiring partners throughout the recruiting process.
- Prepare lateral new hire paperwork.
- Collaborate with interns utilizing relevant toolkits, guides, and resources to support their success in the role.
- Support audits of viDesktop for data integrity by creating, organizing, and managing applicant reports.
- Support onboarding processes through the firm's SilkRoad database for entry-level, lateral, and clerk hires.
- Organize documentation related to reviews, offers, and candidate hiring processes.
- Assist with summer associate, lateral, and clerk events, maintaining accurate records of spend, attendance, and related logistics.
- Collaborate across departments to support recruiting initiatives and achieve hiring goals across Legal Talent Acquisition recruiting programs.
- Track event RSVPs and maintain attendee information, utilizing Cvent as needed.
- Draft and create event materials using Firmwide toolkits, including invitations, name tags, and marketing materials.
- Prepare surveys and compile responses for reporting and analysis.
- Process expense reports and track related documentation.
- Assist with recruiting metrics, candidate pipeline reporting, and market data tracking to support hiring strategies and decision-making.
- Continuously identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or eliminate manual work, including the use of AI and automation tools.
- Develop skills as tools and capabilities evolve, with a focus on improving how work is completed in addition to completing the work itself.
- Provide administrative and operational support for ad hoc recruiting projects as needed.
- Staff recruiting, networking, candidate, and summer program events outside of standard business hours as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- One or more years of experience in an office setting or law firm preferred.
- Highly organized with excellent proofreading, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pay
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in New York City. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations.
New York City: $58,000 - $80,000
