Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones and handle calls for the Executive Office when needed.
  • Process and coordinate Revolving Fund checks, collection advices, payroll, and travel claim checks.
  • Purchase Transit Passes following Accounting and State Administrative Manual procedures.
  • Maintain transaction logs, reconcile cash balances, conduct audits, and prepare management reports.
  • Handle maintenance requests, photocopying, and assembling large, voluminous documents.
  • Perform bate stamping, indexing, and closing case files, including preparing labels and slips for delivery to the Docketing Unit.
  • Use various computer software to type, edit, store, retrieve, print, process, and fax documents and correspondence.
  • Complete correspondence and other non-legal documents pertaining to court proceedings, often of a confidential nature.
  • Provide support to legal teams consisting of attorneys, paralegals, and secretarial staff.
  • Assist legal secretaries in preparing documents in accordance with ProLaw for court filing, including preparing exhibit tabs, Bates numbering, and indexing of complex cases.
  • Photocopy, fax, and electronically transmit documents.
  • Prepare envelopes, labels, and messenger service slips for document service.

Pay

Monthly salary range: $3,829.00 - $4,794.00. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Work Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  • Work Week: Monday - Friday.

Department Information

This position is located in the Division of Administrative Services, Legal Support Operations, Sacramento County.

All new-to-State employees will be subject to the minimum salary of the classification or Range A, unless meeting Alternate Range Criteria 285.

Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary wage reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals, with specifics varying by bargaining unit.
