About the role
The City of Lake Havasu is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Specialist to support its legal team in a dynamic, justice-driven environment. This role involves organizing legal documents, managing specialized databases, and facilitating communication between attorneys, defendants, witnesses, and agencies.
Responsibilities
- Organize legal documents and files, including preparing for trials and hearings.
- Utilize specialized computer databases and software to prepare reports and conduct legal research.
- Serve as a point of contact between attorneys, defendants, witnesses, and other agencies, ensuring clear communication throughout the legal process.
- Maintain legal software, troubleshoot issues, and train others on system functions.
- Handle data entry, reports, evidence, and disclosures.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED, plus some paralegal coursework.
- Considerable experience in a law office or a similar administrative support role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass an extensive background investigation.
- Possession of Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Level B Certification issued by the Criminal Justice Services Bureau at hire.
- Commissioned as a Notary Public in the State of Arizona based on department need.
- Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position.
