About the role
This position provides legal-secretary support for the Licensing & Regulation Division.
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal pleadings, briefs, letters, memoranda, appearances, notices, subpoenas, and affidavits using proper legal terminology, format, and spelling.
- Docket and maintain or organize case files.
- Enter data into the Legal Files system and prepare case files.
- Use e-filing systems to manage case files and e-file answers, briefs, motions, appearances, and required responses.
Qualifications
- High-school diploma or equivalent.
- Administrative support experience in which computer use for correspondence, reports, or data entry/retrieval is essential.
- Experience levels:
- Legal Secretary 7: Two years of administrative support experience, including one year at a 6-level or above.
- Legal Secretary E8: Three years of administrative support experience, including one year of legal-secretarial practices equivalent to a Legal Secretary 7.
- Legal Secretary 9: Four years of office experience, including two years of legal-secretarial practices equivalent to a Legal Secretary 7 or one year equivalent to a Legal Secretary E8.
