About the Opportunity

The Legal Ops Associate, OC Management is responsible for managing and optimizing systems and processes related to outside counsel spend and management. This role supports operational excellence within the legal department by driving automation and AI-enhanced workflows to improve cost efficiency and program effectiveness.

The position directly impacts how outside counsel is engaged, evaluated, and paid while supporting financial planning, vendor management, and legal operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve automated, AI-driven processes for legal e-billing and outside counsel management
  • Implement outside counsel spend strategies, including benchmarking billing rates and fee structures
  • Manage monthly accruals and legal vendor onboarding workflows in partnership with Finance teams
  • Administer and optimize the legal e-billing system while providing training and support
  • Analyze outside counsel spend data to generate reports and actionable insights
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Sourcing, and other departments to align budgets, forecasts, and vendor strategies
  • Oversee onboarding processes for law firms
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal operations processes, cost efficiency, and reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing outside counsel in an in-house legal setting, preferably within a high-growth technology environment
  • Experience managing legal accruals, forecasting, and financial processes alongside FP&A
  • Proficiency with legal e-billing platforms such as Brightflag
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Proven project management skills involving operational initiatives, process design, and vendor onboarding
  • Experience with data tools such as SQL, Snowflake, or Looker for reporting and dashboard creation
  • Ability to use generative AI responsibly, with appropriate human oversight, to enhance workflow efficiency and quality
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across departments

Pay Range and Compensation Package

  • Annual base salary range of $99,365 to $116,900 USD, varying by location
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
