Position Summary

The Legal Nurse will support the firm's medical education efforts, assist with clinical models, conduct case audits, and provide ongoing medical education through training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in implementation of clinical models and systems throughout treatment modalities
- Advises on cases and assists team members and clients through medical education
- Maintains ongoing implementation and effectiveness of processes to evaluate and maintain quality standards of treatment guidelines
- Develops, maintains, and implements training programs both one-on-one and group settings, virtual and face-to-face
- Conducts and assists in case audits and analyzes trends and patterns
- Provides medical education on a variety of appropriate medical knowledge areas
- Assists with medical writing for publications internal and external and training using multiple software applications
- Determines department needs to establish medical knowledge training requirements
- Communicates with clients; clarifies treatment procedures and importance
- Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to clients when needed
- Supports the development of externships for local medical programs
- Acquires and reviews medical and billing records throughout the treatment phase of the case as needed, familiar with ICD-10 and CPT-IV
Qualifications
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Medical Records review experience desired
- 2 or more years of medical experience preferred in one or more of the following: Primary Care, Emergency Room/Urgent Care, Orthopedic or Neurology
- Teaching ability: desire to share information directly contributes to the success of others
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person, and email
- Advanced Research skills
- Proven success in meeting expectations as part of a team
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
- Able to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
- Superb organizational and time management skills; meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- May occasionally ascend/descend the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria, and parking area
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
