The Institute for Governance, Policies & Politics (IGPP) is a think tank initiative of Vivek Manthana Foundation (VMF) dedicated to public policy research and analysis. IGPP plays a critical role in governance and policy at local and national levels, operating independently to provide research, analysis, and advice. The institute develops initiatives to help governments understand challenges and make informed policy choices, engaging with stakeholders such as academia, civil society, government, industry, and international development agencies for high-quality interdisciplinary research.

About the role

IGPP is seeking a Tech Policy Researcher to work on emerging issues at the intersection of technology and public policy. The role focuses on areas such as digital governance, artificial intelligence, data protection, and cybersecurity, contributing to research, analysis, and policy engagement.

Eligibility

• 1–2 years of experience preferred, but freshers will be considered
• Postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, International Relations, Data Science, or related fields
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
• Familiarity with AI ethics, data governance, platform regulation, and digital rights
• Ability to analyze policy documents and regulatory frameworks
• Knowledge of research methodologies and policy writing standards
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and online platforms
• Track national and global policy and regulatory developments
• Support drafting of policy papers, reports, case studies, and presentations
• Review and synthesize academic, government, and industry research
• Contribute to blogs, policy briefs, and thought leadership pieces
• Assist in developing policy frameworks and recommendations
