About the role

The City Attorney's Office serves as the chief legal advisor for the City of Morro Bay, providing legal advice and representation to the City Council, City Manager, and City departments, and overseeing all the City's legal affairs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and minimize liability. This unpaid internship is open to pre-law students seeking course credit and offers exposure to local municipal law.

Responsibilities

• Legal research and drafting

• Resolution and ordinance drafting
• Open meeting laws
• Code enforcement
• Litigation support

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate student in a pre-law or similar concentration
• Approved for an internship course credit program
• No prior experience required
