Legal Document Specialist - 1st Shift (Onsite)

About the role

RRD is seeking a Word Processing professional to support time-sensitive legal document projects. This fully onsite role involves working with a team across multiple shifts and locations to produce quality work and maintain high customer satisfaction. Candidates should have knowledge of legal word/document processing using various legal software, tools, and the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and format legal documents to firm specifications using a variety of software applications
  • Convert, clean, and format documents to/from different file formats
  • Create charts, graphs, tables, and spreadsheets as requested
  • Create and/or edit Tables of Authorities and Table of Contents
  • Perform data entry utilizing various software applications
  • Transcribe analog or digital dictation files
  • Restore/recover corrupted document files as necessary
  • Provide telephone help desk support to troubleshoot application queries
  • Complete all assigned jobs by the deadline in an accurate and timely manner
  • Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information
  • Follow established policies and procedures at all times
  • Perform additional duties as necessary or assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in legal word processing or document production environment preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm with 95% accuracy
  • Experience in legal word processing tasks such as:
    • Creating TOAs, TOCs, inserting automated cross-references
    • Converting PDFs to Word using a variety of software
    • Applying Word styles using macros
    • Troubleshooting problem documents including redlines, multiple numbering schemes, style separators, cross-references, and other automated fields
  • Transcription experience a plus
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal citations preferred

  • Ability to work through complex legal document markups and instructions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to prioritize various requests and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to interact with clients and team members in a professional and respectful manner at all times

Schedule

Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Training: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (6 weeks onsite)

Pay

$23.08 hourly plus $1.00 shift differential.
