Legal - Coverage Attorney I -IV

About the role

The Legal-Litigation department is seeking an experienced insurance coverage attorney for the Chicago, Illinois territory to represent the company by providing coverage opinions relative to Commercial and Personal Insurance policies.

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare and handle coverage opinion letters and coverage position letters on first- and third-party insurance files
• Draft and respond to complex, dispositive motions
• Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency
• Prepare and take depositions and interviews of parties and experts
• Review client documents, draft evaluations and status report correspondence
• Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances

Qualifications

• Illinois law license
• Strong academic and professional credentials
• 3+ years of experience providing formal written coverage opinions related to claims on commercial general liability insurance policies
• Experience as a trial attorney litigating coverage issues
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Pay

$130,000 - $180,000 annually. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performances.
