Legal Counsel

About the role
As a Trex Legal Counsel, you’ll provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of areas, including labor and employment, commercial transactions, marketing, consumer laws, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary.
Responsibilities

- Lead and foster our “people first” culture.
- Provide ongoing legal counseling in labor and employment, commercial transactions, marketing, consumer laws, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Resolve legal issues in existing commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
- Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including distribution, licensing, and marketing contracts.
- Assist in the management of the company’s insurance policies and strategies.
- Provide counsel to senior leadership for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and other corporate transactions.
- Manage and oversee the company-wide record retention policy.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Research and Development on various projects.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from a competitive law school and active license to practice law.
- 8+ years of experience practicing law with 2+ years focused on employment or commercial law.
