The role of Legal Counsel at Reducto is critical to the company's growth and success. Reducto is an agentic document platform for leading AI teams that demands enterprise performance at scale. Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts across the business, including enterprise customer agreements, MSAs, SaaS subscriptions, DPAs, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor contracts, and create new form agreements where none exist
- Run high-value, complex negotiations with large enterprise and strategic customers, including FAANG-scale procurement and security and legal review, to accelerate deal velocity without adding friction
- Own data protection and privacy in our customer contracts: DPAs, data processing and and data subject requirements
- Serve as product counsel, advising product and engineering on the legal implications of new AI/ML features as they come up
- Build and maintain scalable legal infrastructure: standard templates, a negotiation playbook, approval workflows, and a contract management system
- Provide pragmatic legal and regulatory guidance to teams across the company, from early-stage project development through launch
- Coordinate IP (trademarks, copyrights) in partnership with outside counsel where needed
- Manage outside counsel relationships and keep legal spend focused and efficient
Requirements
Active member of the California Bar, or able to waive in
7+ years of legal experience, combining law firm and in-house experience
Hands-on enterprise commercial contracting experience, and can run a complex enterprise deal end-to-end without supervision, including against sophisticated counterparties and their procurement and security teams
Hold yourself to a high bar for quality and precision
Comfortable being the only lawyer in the room and making pragmatic calls independently
Bring a generalist mindset and are willing to tackle problems outside your core expertise
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams and build trust quickly across functions
Operate well in fast-moving, high-growth environments and can balance attention to detail with the pace of the business
Use AI tools fluently and have a track record of using them to improve efficiency and process
Qualifications
Prior in-house experience at a B2B SaaS or AI company
Built legal infrastructure from scratch, including templates, playbooks, and contract systems
Understanding of how AI technologies intersect with privacy
Experience navigating international legal and regulatory requirements
Skills
Legal drafting and negotiation skills
Strong understanding of data protection and privacy laws
Ability to work independently and make pragmatic decisions
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with AI technologies and their legal implications
