About The Role

We're expanding the legal team at Flow and looking for a pragmatic and commercial legal counsel to serve as a key partner to our business teams on corporate matters, commercial contracts, real estate transactions, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, review, analyze, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor agreements and property management agreements
  • Partner closely with business teams to pair legal strategy to business strategy
  • Maintain our complex corporate structure across Florida, Delaware, and international subsidiaries, including drafting written consents, officer certificates, board resolutions, and maintaining our entity org chart
  • Cook up with outside counsel on litigation, real estate closings, permitting, and regulatory matters
  • Coordinate with landlord-tenant legal operations, including reviewing adverse action notices, lease compliance, and resident dispute escalations at the property level
  • Proactively identify and advise on novel, sophisticated issues
  • Manage strategic relationships, including partners, counterparties, customers, etc.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from a variety of stakeholders
  • Support on employment, privacy, licensing, and construction matters as needed

Ideal Background

  • 2-5 years’ experience in general corporate transactional and commercial work at a top firm, or comparable in-house experience at a real estate operating company, PropTech startup, or similar high-growth company
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for organization
  • Experience with commercial real estate, landlord-tenant law, or residential property operations preferred
  • Exposure to multi-entity corporate structures and subsidiary governance a plus
  • Self-starter who can manage agreements through their entire life cycle
  • Flexible and able to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Highly ethical and able to question and defend with an open mind
