Legal Counsel

About the role

Fisher Investments is a global investment management organization with over 45 years of experience. This role offers an opportunity to join their in-house legal team and contribute to their international growth and expansion.

Responsibilities

• Research and provide legal and regulatory analysis and advice on financial services and investment management, privacy, employment and other laws and regulations globally
• Conduct legal analysis of complex topics and translate this analysis into practical and succinct legal advice
• Participate in ad-hoc regulatory and business projects, including implementation of new legislation or regulatory requirements
• Launch new regulated entities (including incorporation and licensing)
• Draft or review various documents related to legal support of the business globally, such as commercial contracts, employment agreements, investment management agreements, fund documentation, policies, and business guidelines
• Handle corporate law and commercial matters
• Handle employment law and litigation matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts
• Coordinate with external counsel on various matters
• Train and mentor paralegals, fellow lawyers, and business colleagues on new or changing regulations and other matters

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school, with admission to a bar
• 6+ years' post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years of experience at a mid to large-sized law firm
• Ability to balance business interests against legal and regulatory risks and consider the bigger picture, strategic goals
• Familiarity with international investment management, employment, or privacy laws in various jurisdictions (though not mandatory)

Pay

The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000 annually.
