About the role
A highly motivated licensed attorney to join our legal team as Legal Counsel to support our General Counsel in managing the legal affairs of a dynamic technology company.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including SaaS agreements, software licenses, service agreements, nondisclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and employment contracts.
- Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations, align with company policies, and mitigate risk.
- Support the General Counsel on advising internal stakeholders on the legal aspects of SaaS transactions and technology-related contracts.
- Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, and terminations to comply with labor laws.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact company operations and advise on necessary adjustments.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to contract management, regulatory compliance, and employment law, providing day-to-day legal advice to various internal stakeholders.
- Be a key member of the legal team willing to step in and contribute where necessary to accomplish tasks and solve problems.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to and good standing with the Texas state bar.
- 0-3 years of experience as an attorney with a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Large firm experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, intellectual property, and other related areas of law.
- Knowledge of technology law, SaaS industry standards, mergers and acquisitions and employment law would be a plus.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with contract management software is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Energy and willingness to solve problems.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Qualifications
- Candidate must reside in Dallas or within a commutable distance from our Dallas office, as this is not a remote role.
