Legal Contract Specialist
About the Role
AlixPartners solves complex and critical challenges by moving quickly from analysis to action, creating lasting impact on companies, their people, and communities. This role supports the firm's Legal-Compliance-Risk team by reviewing, revising, coordinating, and tracking engagement documentation across multiple practices and geographies. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, firm leadership, clients, and outside professionals to facilitate engagement approvals and support timely execution of client-facing documents.
This hybrid role is based in Southfield, Michigan, reporting to the Legal Operations Director. Paid relocation is not available.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and triage incoming requests via the contract management tool (Ironclad), ticketing system (ServiceNow), email, and other communication channels to ensure timely handling of client engagement document requests and approvals.
- Coordinate and generate reports from the contract management platform and related Legal Team systems as needed.
- Draft, review, revise, coordinate, and track client engagement documents, including engagement letters, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, non-reliance agreements, report disclaimers, and other client-facing documentation.
- Coordinate communication with and between the firm’s clients, internal stakeholders, in-house counsel, outside professionals, and service providers.
- Track and report on Risk Management Committee (RMC) activities and approvals, including preparing materials for monthly meetings, initiating approval requests, scheduling ad hoc meetings, supporting RMC subcommittees, and maintaining records.
- Maintain and update reports, trackers, and other records related to client engagements, approvals, and Legal Team workflows.
- Assist with the review and coordination of documentation for complex or higher-risk client engagements requiring additional internal review and approval.
- Respond promptly and accurately to requests for information, documents, policies, templates, task requests, and instructions.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher preferred, with two (2) or more years of experience as a paralegal, in purchasing, contracting, procurement, client engagement administration, or other relevant business experience.
- Experience supporting consulting, professional services, legal, compliance, risk management, or other client-facing business functions across multiple stakeholders is preferred.
- Familiarity with bankruptcy and restructuring matters is advantageous but not required.
- Proficiency with technology-related business tools, including Contract Management Software (Ironclad), ticketing software (ServiceNow), Microsoft Office applications, email, and other business systems.
- Comfortable leveraging firm-approved AI tools to support day-to-day work efficiencies and enhance productivity.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, implement, and improve business processes, workflows, templates, and operational practices.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and exceptional proofreading skills for managing sensitive documents and complex client-facing materials.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a matrixed, team-oriented environment.
- Keen judgment to support the review, coordination, escalation, and tracking of matters involving contractual, operational, compliance, or risk-related considerations.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to resolving issues.

- Core working hours are 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside normal U.S. business hours as needed.
- Ability to work full time in a hybrid environment, including sitting/standing at a computer for significant portions of the workday.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; no visa or immigration sponsorship is available for this role.

Schedule
Hybrid work model combining in-person work at the Southfield, MI office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote working options for Monday and Friday.
