Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a legal consultant. This unpaid volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in NPO-related legal work while contributing to our mission of supporting autism education and community initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on topics relevant to non-profit operations, employment law, intellectual property, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Aid in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Provide support to the executive team and board of directors on legal matters and compliance issues.
- Aid in reviewing and updating organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel and advisors as needed to address complex legal issues and concerns.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting non-profit organizations and social services.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a law school program program with knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining non-profit organization.
- Interested in social justice, and making a positive impact in the community.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret and apply legal principles to real-world situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Fluency in Chinese is a plus, but not required.
