Legal & Community Advocate – Clarke County

About the role

This position supports survivors of domestic violence through direct advocacy, safety planning, court accompaniment, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct survivor services including legal advocacy, safety planning, and crisis intervention.
• Build collaborative relationships with law enforcement, courts, attorneys, and other community partners to improve coordinated responses to domestic violence.
• Ensure survivors have access to the support they need through referrals to community resources.

Requirements

• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy.
• A background in social work, victim services, or a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
