Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support personal injury claims throughout pre-litigation and litigation. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced legal environment. This is not an entry-level position. The candidate must be able to prioritize urgent tasks, manage multiple deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively as part of a team. Responsibilities Manage and maintain legal case files using a document management system.Handle pre-litigation matters, including:Communicating with insurance companies and lien holdersRequesting and reviewing medical recordsProviding updates to clients, insurance companies, and medical providersPreparing correspondence to clients, insurance companies, and medical providersSupport the litigation process from filing the complaint through jury trial.Handle court e-filing procedures.Prepare, serve, and file pleadings, discovery, Case Management Statements, and related correspondence.Calendar and monitor litigation deadlines, including trials, mediations, depositions, attorney-client meetings, conferences, and hearings.Follow up on upcoming deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.Utilize legal and office software, including document management systems, PDF software, and Microsoft Office.Answer phones, take messages, and interact professionally with clients. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of personal injury experience required.Strong knowledge of legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy legal environment.Excellent computer skills.Strong writing skills and ability to draft professional legal documents and correspondence.Experience supporting litigation from document review through case management.Proficiency in data entry, proofreading, transcription, filing, and document organization.Ability to manage multiple interruptions while maintaining priorities.Excellent communication and professional phone etiquette.Ability to maintain client confidentiality.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
