LEGAL ASSISTANT

Description

Messerli Kramer, a trusted Twin Cities law firm since 1965, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join their team in Plymouth, MN.

Essential Functions And Duties

• Review files based on client criteria and handle time-sensitive documents
• Prepare documents for litigation
• Perform account reviews
• Process bank and wage garnishments
• Work closely with courts, following files through the legal process in multiple states
• Independently complete projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Required Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED, Associate’s degree or some college education preferred
• Competencies: Ability to work in a queue based, paperless environment, Strong attention to detail, Excellent communication and organizational skills, Ability to multitask and work under time-sensitive deadlines, Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed

Work Environment And Physical Demands

• This role operates in a professional office setting, routinely working with standard office equipment.
• Routinely works: Talking and hearing, sitting or standing for long periods, handling and feeling items, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Occasionally required to: Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Regularly required to: Use vision abilities including close vision.

Wage Disclaimer

The starting wage for this position is $18.00/hour. The wage range for this position is $18.00/hour to $21.75/hour. Salary Description $18.00/hour + $1,000 Sign On Bonus
