About the role
Assist Department of Motor Vehicle Appeals Board Attorneys in reviewing administrative appeals based on Vehicle and Traffic Law and Freedom of Information Law.
Responsibilities
- Review underlying appeal record including summons, transcript, investigation reports, appellant evidence, crash reports, ALJ decision, and other relevant documents
- Apply Vehicle and Traffic Law to the facts of individual appeals to make recommendations for appeal decisions
- Draft proposed appeal decisions
- Perform legal research
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Candidates must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at a law school recognized by the New York State Education Department
