About the role

Het Molenduin is a school for vocational special education with four locations in North Holland (Bakkum, Driehuis, Santpoort, and Schagen). We prepare students aged 12 to 18 for careers in green sectors, technology, hospitality, or care. Students gain vocational knowledge and develop essential workplace skills in a safe, structured environment. We maintain strong ties with local businesses and align our curriculum with regional labor market needs. We also offer colleagues a dynamic and modern learning-work environment with diverse development opportunities.

We are seeking a teacher for general subjects (AVO) for our locations in Driehuis and Santpoort.

Responsibilities

• Teach Dutch, English, mathematics, and citizenship to students.
• Serve as a mentor for a group of students.
• Deliver education aligned with the school’s pedagogical and didactic principles.
• Contribute positively to lesson preparation and curriculum development.
• Maintain intensive contact with students’ families and external environments.
• Engage in ongoing professional development tailored to your growth and the school’s evolution.

Requirements

• You are an enthusiastic, committed colleague with a sense of humor, resilience, and a strong sense of self.

• You hold a primary education teaching degree (pabo) or a second-degree teaching qualification, preferably in Dutch, English, mathematics, or social studies/citizenship.

• An appointment between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE, to be determined collaboratively.
• A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position.
• Salary placement in scale LC, in accordance with the primary education collective labor agreement (cao po).
