About the role
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence role involves contributing to the advancement of research and education in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence. You will conduct research in integrating machine learning and symbolic reasoning, develop robust and interpretable AI systems, and contribute to high-impact research outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence, focusing on integration of machine learning and symbolic reasoning to address complex and structured problems.
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, contributing to curriculum development and educational technology implementation.
- Support student learning and development, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
- Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to collaborative research initiatives, including competitive grant applications and scholarly publications.
- Lead and supervise HDR students, demonstrating a track record of successful research outcomes and high-quality teaching.
Requirements
- A PhD in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design at various levels and scales.
- Experience using and designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Industry or work-integrated learning experience (optional).
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications

- Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.

Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- Lecturer (Level B): AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Senior Lecturer (Level C): AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
Pay
The salary range for this position is AUD $127,947 to $178,290 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
