About the role

The University of Bristol Business School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics onp> on a full-time, open-ended basis. This is a key appointment within the Business School, aimed at building and strengthening the School’s growing expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics. Appointments will be made at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level according to the candidate's experience, achievements, and academic standing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop (Lecturer) or lead (Senior Lecturer) an ambitious programme of research that advances business and management scholarship through Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics.
  • Publish high-quality research, engage with industry, policymakers, and other external stakeholders, and contribute to (Lecturer) or lead (Senior Lecturer) the development of collaborative research initiatives and externally funded research.
  • Deliver inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate, or executive education levels in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics.
  • Contribute to (Lecturer) or lead (Senior Lecturer) the design and development of teaching programmes, including interdisciplinary curricula.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics, with research interests that complement and enhance the School’s growing expertise in this area.
  • Research that combines methodological rigour with practical relevance, using data-driven, computational, empirical, and/or experimental approaches to advance scholarship while addressing important business and societal challenges.
  • For Lecturer appointments: potential to develop an internationally recognised research profile, a growing record of high-quality publications, and a strong pipeline of research (published, forthcoming, and planned).
  • For Senior Lecturer appointments: an internationally recognised research profile, a strong publication record, a robust pipeline of high-quality research, experience securing external research funding, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to academic leadership.
  • Experience of designing curricula and teaching collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.

We particularly welcome applicants working in areas such as AI-driven decision making, intelligent business processes and automation, predictive analytics (forecasting), AI for operations and supply chains, data-driven strategy, generative AI in organisations, and human-centred AI for business.

Pay

Salaries are on Grade J (£43,482 – £50,253), Grade K (£50,253 – £58,225), or Grade L (£59,966 – £67,468) per annum, depending on experience, plus a market supplement.
