Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Education Focussed) in Cybersecurity

About the role

Join the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in an Education Focussed role. In this role, you will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning within cybersecurity, while helping to shape the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and computing graduates.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to teaching across areas such as penetration testing, reverse engineering, wargaming, offensive and defensive security, and related cybersecurity disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Deliver engaging learning experiences, develop innovative curriculum and teaching approaches, and enhance student learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to the advancement of teaching excellence across the School and broader UNSW Education Focused community.

Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience, and actively stay up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development.

Qualifications

• A PhD in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
• Experience in industry or work-integrated learning (desirable).

Skills

• Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
• Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Pay

• Lecturer (Level B): AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
• Senior Lecturer (Level C): AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
