Key Responsibilities
- Develop and/or teach courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’ active participation in their own learning.
- Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’ intellectual curiosity and help students problem-solve using discipline-specific strategies.
- Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and achievement of learning outcomes.
- Help students reach their academic, personal, and career goals while fostering a safe environment that respects diversity and encourages confidence in every student’s ability to learn.
- Adhere to City Colleges of Chicago code of ethics, Board rules, and policies.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in the subject area(s) to be taught.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to create a positive learning environment and adapt to diverse student needs.
- Proficiency with technology and instructional tools.
- Coaching, mentoring, or training experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications related to the course content.
- Experience developing curricula or training programs.
Compensation
The compensation for this part-time instructor position will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and the course subject matter.

Schedule
The starting pay for this position is $35 an hour.
