About the role

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Cal Poly Humboldt trains students to gather reliable content and tell trustworthy stories. Students engage in media-making from their first semester, producing blogs, photos, interviews, videos, and podcasts.

Responsibilities

• Report and write for The Lumberjack and El Leñador newspapers.
• Contribute feature articles to Osprey magazine.
• Broadcast live bands on KRFH-FM radio.
• Create public relations campaigns for non-profit organizations.
• Produce video documentaries on climate solutions.

Qualifications

• Group 1: Earned B.A./B.S. in Journalism or related field. Minimum of 3 years professional journalism experience. Proficiency in industry-relevant technology and software.
• Group 2: Earned M.A./M.S. in Journalism or related field. Minimum of 3 years professional experience relevant to the course. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness. Ph.D. or J.D. preferred.

Pay

• Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
• Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
• Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
