About the Role
We are seeking an experienced real estate professional with a passion for developing the next generation of industry leaders to teach courses in our accelerated Real Estate program. This part-time online position is ideal for practicing real estate professionals who want to share their expertise and experience with future real estate professionals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, applied instruction in Real Estate courses, preparing students for immediate employment through practical training and career-ready skills.
- Teach courses in residential and commercial real estate, brokerage, property management, and related fields, including but not limited to:
- Principles of Real Estate I & II
- Law of Contracts and Law of Agency
- Real Estate Law and Contract Forms
- Real Estate Brokerage and Appraisal
- Real Estate Finance and Investments
- Property Management and Real Estate Marketing
- Real Estate Construction and Urban Planning
- Real Estate Computer Applications
- Fundamentals of Environmental Issues
- Cooperative Education - Real Estate
- Develop syllabi, lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments aligned with program outcomes and industry standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students.
- Maintain current knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, financing, appraisal, brokerage practices, technology, and evolving industry trends.
- Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to continuously improve curriculum, instructional quality, and student success.
- Integrate current real estate technologies, software, and industry practices into instruction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a closely related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current Texas Real Estate Broker License strongly preferred.
- Additional industry certifications or professional designations (e.g., GRI, CRS, CCIM, SIOR, CPM, RPA) are desirable.
- Professional experience in residential and/or commercial real estate, brokerage, property management, appraisal, real estate finance, development, construction, or a related field.
- Previous teaching, training, or workforce development experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of real estate principles, brokerage operations, contracts, agency law, appraisal, finance, property management, and applicable Texas real estate laws and regulations.
- Experience with online learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard) is preferred; familiarity with best practices for online teaching is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, industry partners, and the public.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
