Lecturer Pool - Art, Media, and Design AY 2026/27
California State University San Marcos is accepting applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of part-time lecturers in the Department of Art, Media, and Design. This pool is used to fill short-term temporary positions lasting from one day to a full semester, with the possibility of rehiring. Applications are valid only for the 2026/27 academic year and will close on May 31st.
About the Role
The Department of Art, Media, and Design seeks part-time lecturers for courses in Art and Visual Culture as well as Digital and Media Arts. Teaching modality is in-person, with day and time varying by assignment.
Requirements
- A master’s degree or terminal degree in the area of instruction or equivalent experience.
- Employment is contingent upon working in the State of California, as the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community through teaching and, where applicable, service.
Pay
Salary is commensurate with degree level and experience, with an anticipated hiring range of $5,507–$8,000 per full-time month. The salary schedule for the Lecturer - Academic Year classification is as follows:
- Lecturer A - AY: $5,507–$6,677 per full-time month
- Lecturer B - AY: $6,221–$13,224 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
