Position Details
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications for a Lecturer of English position, accepting applications regardless of immediate need in any area. Applications are kept on file for future lecturer opportunities.
Job Duties
Serves as an initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations. Facilitates classroom, online, and laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance. Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
Department
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of English houses 3 tracks within the English major and is staffed with 17 tenure-track faculty and 10 academic staff members. The department emphasizes preparing students for various career paths such as law, higher education leadership, K-12 teaching, human services, and editing.
Required Qualifications
- Earned the minimum of a master's degree from an accredited college or university in English or a related field.
- Experience in teaching English composition.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in collaborative and/or inclusionary settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to reflective teaching practices.
- Experience and evidence of success with college level writing instruction.
