Lecturer in Writing Studies
About the Role
Northwestern University in Qatar invites applications for a one-year lecturer appointment in the field of Writing Studies to be appointed in the Liberal Arts Program.
Responsibilities
- Teach the foundational First Year Writing 1 and 2 courses that are mandatory for all first-year students at NU-Q
- Teach three sections per semester of First Year Writing (6 per year)
- Work closely with other first-year writing instructors and the broader Liberal Arts program
Requirements
- PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or Applied Linguistics
- Experience teaching first-year composition to undergraduate students
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching second language writers would be considered a strength
- Willingness to engage across disciplinary boundaries in teaching
- Competence in working with globally diverse communities
- Excellence in inclusive teaching and mentoring
- Collegial and collaborative disposition
