Lecturer in Horticulture

About the role

Capel Manor College is seeking a Lecturer in Horticulture to deliver high‑quality teaching and learning to horticulture students on a full‑time, onsite basis in Enfield. The position is permanent, with a closing date of 19 September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess teaching to examination body standards across Levels 1‑3 in subjects such as Amenity Horticulture, Plant Science, Propagation, Soil Science, Machinery, Landscaping and Ecology, and basic Garden Design principles.
• Prepare and deliver stimulating lessons, set challenging goals, monitor and assess student progress, and provide feedback.
• Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours expected of students.
• Work with practical instructors and technicians to provide practical learner activities while ensuring health and safety requirements are met.

Requirements

• Possess a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in a horticulture‑related discipline.
• Have experience as a lecturer or relevant industry experience and a desire to pass on skills to others.

Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in a related horticulture discipline.

• Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students.
• Capacity to impart knowledge and develop understanding that promotes a love of learning and intellectual curiosity.

Pay

£33,646‑£44,394 for qualified lecturers; £28,810‑£31,890 for unqualified lecturers (inclusive of LW hours).
