About the role

The School of Humanities and Social Science, UNSW Canberra, seeks a Lecturer in Australian politics for a three-year position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ZHSS1401 Ideals, Interests and Power within the school, and additional courses as required.
  • Show expertise in Australian Politics and broader interests in Political Philosophy, Security Studies, and/or International Relations.
  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, develop innovative learning experiences, and support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes.
  • Carry out activities to develop scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, mentor students, and shape the future of politics education and research at UNSW Canberra.

Requirements

  • A PhD in a discipline related to the study of Australian politics and/or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
  • Research with outcomes of high quality and high impact, and a desire and ability to continuously achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues, including participating as co-investigator or chief investigator in competitive grant applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.

Qualifications

Pay

Level B from $127,947 plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.

Schedule

35 hours per week.
