Lecturer - CS 433: Operating Systems (Fall 2026)
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach CS 433: Operating Systems.
About the role
The position is for a semester-long course, Fall 2026, held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., in-person.
Responsibilities
- Teach CS 433: Operating Systems
- Develop and maintain course materials
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Maintain office hours
Requirements
- A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service
Qualifications
- Doctorate or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and related fields preferred
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to teach complex concepts effectively
Benefits
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month.
Pay
Salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
- Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
- Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month
Schedule
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
